
There are three themes that students will have to study in A-Level Geography, which include: • Physical Geography: Water Security, Carbon Cycle, Glacial Systems and Landscapes and Seismic and Atmospheric Hazards • Human Geography: Globalisation, Global Governance and Superpowers, Regeneration and Global Geography of Health. • Synoptic Paper: Geographical decision-making based on a resource booklet that will be issued in the exam. Students will have to use the data and resources provided to plan a solution to a geographical problem (using their knowledge from across the course). Geography Fieldwork Investigation – based on a project of your choice from a 4-day fieldwork project.
This course is assessed through 3 papers and one investigation: 1) Paper 1 - Physical Geography (30%) 2) Paper 2 - Human Geography (30%) 3) Synoptic Paper (20%) Geography Fieldwork Investigation (20%) - a 3-4000 word investigation reporting on primary data collected during fieldwork.
