GCE A Level Maths - exam board Edexcel. Mathematics at A Level continues the study of number, algebra, shape and data as begun at GCSE level. It is suitable for anyone who obtained at least a grade 7 at GCSE, who is prepared to work hard and can reach the required standard in an entrance assessment following a ‘Preparing for A-Level Maths’ course held during the end of Year 11. New ideas introduced include calculus and solving trigonometric equations. The idea of algebra and more complex mathematical proof also becomes increasingly important.
