The IB diploma course is designed to develop an inquiring learner who wants to deepen their knowledge in biological principles. It provides an opportunity to study how scientists work through a practical project and an individual investigation. Topics covered include: Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Evolution, Physiology. Student profile Has a passion for learning about living systems and want to take their GCSE Science further. They will enjoy learning and working in both practical activities and independently to discover new things. They will want to understand the natural world and seek to discover the fundamental reasons behind how living things work. Studying any STEM subject to a higher level gains hugely transferable skills that can be applied to many careers. GENERIC IB ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: 5 GCSE'S 4-9, including English Language SUBJECT SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Grade 6 in GCSE Trilogy Science or GCSE Biology
2 written papers will cover 80% of the overall marks with 20% awarded to the Individual Assessment of a Scientific Project. Numerous practical activities will be undertaken over the 2 year course as well as a collaborative group project.
