Course summary

Introduction into Mandarin will include language and cultural learning. We will familiarise ourselves with both vocabulary and grammar, so that by the end of the course students will be able to have a simple conversation in Mandarin. Practising to write the characters will also be an important part of our course - this will also develop students’ reading skills in Mandarin. You will develop an understanding of how the compounds of the Mandarin characters can indicate a meaning of many others. - Students will be expected to revise new vocabulary at home, by using online apps and practising the writing - the latter having therapeutic characteristics, similar to those of colouring!
