
French language and culture at an advanced level, building on the grammar and vocab covered at GCSE, and including the topics of family and technology in contemporary society, French heritage, the voluntary sector, crime and punishment, immigration and diversity and French cinema and literature. (We study one film and one short novel in detail).
To study French you would need to achieve at least a grade 6 in GCSE French.
Exams (Paper 1: listening and reading comprehension and translation, Paper 2: one essay each on the set film and set book, Paper 3: the oral - discussion of topics from a stimulus card and an independent research project which students present and discuss.
