
A level Sociology examines social behaviour from a variety of perspectives: how it originates and then develops, and the ways people are organised into groups according to distinctions such as class, gender and race. We explore this through an in-depth study of the role of the family within society, education, crime and religion.
To study Sociology you will need a minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics.
Three 2 hour papers are sat in the Summer Term of Year 13. Each paper is worth 33.3% of the course and contain a variety of question types worth 4,6,10,20 or 30 marks.
