Component 1 Physical systems Coastal landscapes and Earth's life support systems Component 2 Human interaction Changing spaces; making places, Global migration and Human rights Component 3 Geographical debates Disease dilemmas and Hazardous Earth Component 4 Investigative geography Students carry out an independent investigation into an area of particular interest to them, related to any aspect of the specification.

Entry requirements

To study Geography you will need a minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE Geography. It is possible to study it as a new subject, to do so you would need to achieve at least a grade 6 in English Language and Mathematics.

How you'll be assessed

Components 1 and 2 papers are 1 hour 30 minutes long and are worth 22% of the qualification each. Component 3 the paper is 2 hours 30 minutes and is worth 36% of the qualification The individual investigation is worth 20% of the qualification
