The aim by the end of the two year course is to make you an independent reader of Latin; also to read further into Roman authors in their original language, such as Virgil and Cicero. There is surprisingly little new grammar after GCSE, but the challenge is the changing permutation of possibilities. In literature there is a greater degree of being submersed in a great author's work.
To study Latin you will need a minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE Latin.
There are four examinations: two in language, and two in literature. The first language examination is unseen translation, the second paper is one of language analysis. The two literature papers cover the two different set authors.
