The course is split into four units. Two are externally assessed and two internally assessed through a series of assignments. Students study all three sciences. In year one, students build upon knowledge gained at GCSE in preparation for the unit examination. It is essential that the students pass the external units in order to pass the course. Students are allowed to re-sit each external assessment only once.
