It provides a range of valuable skills that can be applied to many professions. The study of English develops the ability to communicate effectively and critically evaluate different ideas and interpretations of a range of texts. A qualification in English can open up countless opportunities but, notably, those offered in law, the civil service, journalism, advertising, PR, teaching and human resources.
