Course summary

Geography is the subject with the power to change lives and the world around us. At A Level we delve deeper into topics we haven’t been able to focus on at GCSE e.g. we look in detail at how the world is interdependent and almost totally reliant on links and communications, we look at Global politics and how countries deal with each other. We study a wide variety of topics about both the physical and the human world, whilst also gaining hands on experience through our minimum 4 days fieldwork, including a residential experience. Geographers are highly sought-after employees due to their ability to pull information together to draw conclusions and their wide knowledge. Year 12: We cover 2 topics for each of human and physical Geography. Human: Globalisation and Regeneration. For Physical: Tectonics and Coasts. Year 13: We cover 2 topics for each of human and physical Geography. Human: Superpowers and Health, Human Rights and Intervention. For Physical: Carbon Cycles and Water Cycles.
