Course summary

Psychology will help you understand human behaviour and mental processes and allow you to gain an insight into your own personality and behaviour. You will cover a diverse range of subjects including cognitive psychology, forensic psychology and biopsychology. Critical thinking is a key part of a psychology and during the course you will develop the ability to research a topic or issue and evaluate and criticise a theory for its usefulness or a study for its methodology. Year 12: Social influence, Memory, Attachment, Psychopathology, Approaches, Biopsychology, Research methods. Year 13: Issues and debates such as gender and culture, reductionism vs holism, nature v nurture, ethical implications.
