All students will study BTEC National in Health and Social Care Extended Diploma. Our health and social care course counts towards UCAS points for university application. Students will be studying: - Care needs, work roles, growth and development, safe practice, public health and wellbeing. - The needs of service users. Gaining an understanding of how factors such as, economics, psychological development and physical factors affect behaviour. - Your studies will have practical activities within the local community to help you develop the skills required for further study application. This will also help you to understand the work roles and the skills required to work in the Health and Social Care sectors. - The ability to understand stages of human development and the factors that may affect each of those stages. - The legislation guiding health and social care practice, and how this protects individual rights to care in the UK. - The anatomy and physiology of the body to gain an understanding of how this relates to specific treatments for disorders. A variety of teaching and learning methods are used and students will continue to be set according to their academic targets and current attainment.
