You will study a range of theoretical concepts and topics in A-Level PE. There are three main components of study. The first is Physiology which includes applied anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology and biomechanics. The second component focuses on Sports Psychology whilst the last investigates Socio-Cultural issues in physical activity and sport. Coursework is assessed verbally through an evaluation and analysis of performance. It is also assessed practically through an assessment of each candidate’s physical performance (competing or coaching).
General college entry requirements plus a grade 5 or above in GCSE Physical Education.
70% examination / 30% coursework
