Course summary

HASJW offers students the Sixth Form the opportunity to complete the Extended project qualification (AQA). If selected the students undertake independent research into an area of their own choosing. Their project can take the form of an extended essay or a practical project such as composing and performing a piece of music. The Extended Project is equivalent to an AS level qualification. It is highly regarded by universities as it closely mirrors their ways of working and gives an insight into the student's ability to work independently on a major project. In some cases this may lead to a student receiving a reduced offer from a university if their extended project is related to what they have applied to study.
