This qualification is designed for learners from a heating background (wet central heating systems) to demonstrate their knowledge in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source/Combined Heat Pump Systems (non-refrigerant circuits) The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the installation and maintenance of heat pump systems You will cover compulsory aspects such as: Vapour compression systems; Fundamental principles of heat pumps; Installation and testing of an air heat pumps; Commissioning an air source heat pump system; Non-refrigerant circuit routine service and maintenance of an air heat pump.
The pre-requirement for candidates to enrol on the AHSP course is to possess a valid WRAS Water Regulations qualification, along with one of the following: A Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ or SVQ in plumbing/heating & ventilation/gas/oil - Installation and Maintenance qualification; A valid Core Gas Safety (CCN1) certificate; CPS registration for plumbing systems; A minimum of two years of experience in heating and plumbing systems installation and maintenance.
Assessment will be through work performance activities and online assessments.
