Course summary

Why study geography? Geography will allow you to understand and interpret our changing world. It helps you to consider the complexities of interactions between communities and the role they have as global citizens. Geography supports creative reflective learners, and you will become adept in the use and application of skills and new technologies in and outside of the classroom. What will I learn about? Physical geography You will seek to explore the meaning, causes and impacts of a number of headline issues, including: • Water and carbon cycles • Coastal systems and landscapes • Hazards Human geography • Global systems and global governance • Changing places • Population and the environment Geographical investigations You will investigate and collect data in the field based on a geographical issue, relating to any part of your course.

Entry requirements

GCSE at grade 5 in geography.
