Film Studies will allow you to develop a wide range of analysis skills in which to explore films from a range of time periods and genres. You will learn how film has the power to help us make sense of the world or present our vision of what the world could be. • Students will be expected to complete the ‘wider reading’ and research requirements in their own time. • Key concepts, theories and terminology used in the study of film. • Complete a study of six films from multiple perspectives • In your second year you will study a further five films, including experimental and documentary filmmaking. • A complete assessment in the form of either a short film or screenplay with a fully photographed storyboard.
Grade 6 in GCSE English and Grade 6 GCSE in Film Studies or Media Studies is desirable
