In Year 12 and 13 you will study compulsory and optional units for each level of the course. Below are the compulsory units. Body Systems and the effects of physical activity, Sports coaching and activity leadership, and Sports organisation and development Where can it lead? Students with either one of the combinations above go onto university to study Physical Education, teaching, Sports development plus many other sports courses. Also this leads nicely into a verity of jobs opportunities and vocations.
- Grade 5 at GCSE PE or Merit in a vocational sports course would be an advantage. - Grade 5 or above in English and Maths, plus three other subjects.
There will be a combination of unit exams and written controlled assessments throughout the course. The following units are examination based: - Body Systems and the effects of physical activity - Sports Organisation and development - Working safely in sport, exercise health and leisure - Business in Sport All other units are assignment based and will be internally assessed.
