Course summary

This is is a course for anyone with an interest in Media and Film Production. The Creative Media Production course allows students to develop a wide range of practical production skills in a variety of formats in combination with an understanding of how media texts function and media industries work. This course can be studied alongside A Levels so progression opportunities include degrees in Film & Media Production, Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, Games Design etc. as well as employment or apprenticeships. The course is equivalent to 1 A Level.

Previous study of Media (GCSE or L2 BTEC) grade 4/Merit. -To study at Bilborough Sixth Form College you must achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9 to 4 including English and Maths. Assessment

The full qualification is 4 units. You will study 2 in each year. The course is assessed by a mixture of practical production work, on-line tests and work produced under controlled conditions. You will be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction. The four units are: - Media Representations - Pre-Production Portfolio - Responding to a Commission - Film Production.
