Course summary
This course is designed for students who would like to pursue a career within the Sport and Exercise Science industry. Students will develop the skills regarded as essential at degree level and within employment. Course Units: Core Units Unit 01: Sport and Exercise Physiology Unit 02: Functional Anatomy Unit 03: Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology Unit 04: Field and Laboratory-Based Fitness Testing Unit 05: Applied Research Methods in Sport and Excerise Science Unit 06: Coaching for Performance and Fitness Unit 13: Nutrition for Sport and Exercise Performance Examples of Further Units Unit 08: Specialised Fitness Training Unit 09: Research Project in Sport and Exercise Science Unit 10: Physical Activity for Individual and Group-Based Exercise Unit 12: Sociocultural Issues in Sport Unit 14: Technology in Sport and Exercise Science Unit 15: Sports Injury and Assessment Course Can Lead To: With this qualification, students can go on to university to study Sport and Exercise Science, Physiotherapy and other sports-related courses. They can also consider employment as a fitness trainer or a sports coach amongst other professions. Course Highlights: - Excellent preparation for a sport related degree course. - Previous trips include rock climbing, water skiing, snowboarding and mountain walking. - Opportunities for university taster days through excellent links with universities. - Autonomy to conduct primary research into an area of interest within sport science and collect primary data.

OR BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport (or equivalent) with Merit and Grade 4 in Maths
