Course summary

Applied Psychology BTEC Level 3 National Certificate is a very beneficial qualification to have; it can help lead you into multiple careers or onto various Higher Education courses. It is especially beneficial for going on to study Psychology or Criminology at university or for entering a career in clinical psychology, criminal psychology, health psychology, education, social care, or care services.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 6 grade 4s, including a grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language, is required. GCSE Maths must also be at grade 3 as a minimum. If GCSE Maths is at a grade 3, you would have to resit it.

How you'll be assessed

The assessments for this course are split up into four separate units: Unit 1: Psychological Approaches and Applications – External written exam. 1.5 hours long. Unit 2: Conducting Psychological Research – Internal coursework module. Unit 3: Health Psychology – External written exam. 2 hours long. Unit 4: Introduction to Psychopathology – Internal coursework module.
