This course is delivered with a creative approach, using learners’ experiences as a focal point and enabling learning to be as active, practical and work-related as possible. Alongside this, it provides robust opportunities for learners to gain knowledge and understanding of a wide range of subject areas relating to health and social care through case studies. Over the two years, you will study the following units for a BTEC National Diploma in Health and Social Care (two A-levels) or National Extended Diploma (3 A-levels) Students may also wish to study one or two additional related A-levels such as biology, psychology, sociology or the BTEC Level 3 Applied Science. This qualification is ideal for students who enjoy working with people and may be thinking about a career in a care-related setting after leaving the sixth form.
To secure your place at Aston Manor Sixth Form, you must achieve five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (including English and maths at grade 4). GCSE grade 4 maths
Either level must be fully completed within two years to achieve the qualification. Grading system is Pass/Merit/Distinction.
