Course summary

Two teachers will deliver the content of the A Level over the 2 year course. The taught content will be split equally and will reflect the interests and skills of the individual teacher. Content: Physical Systems: Landscape Systems (Glaciated Landscapes and Processes), Water and Carbon cycles. Human Interactions: Changing Spaces; Making Places Global Connections: I), Trade in the Contemporary World, ii) Powers and Borders. Geographical Debates: Disease Dilemmas, Hazardous Earth. Independent investigation: An individually planned geographical enquiry with some teacher support. Primary fieldwork required.

Entry requirements

At least a Grade 6 in that subject. In the case of subjects where no previous study is required, any applicant who has studied it for GCSE must achieve a Grade 6 or above.

How you'll be assessed

Terminal assessment at the end of the 2 year course: Paper 1: Physical Systems (22%) 1 hour 45 minute exam. Paper 2: Human Interactions (22%) 1 hour 45 minute exam. Paper 3: Geographical Debates (36%) 2 hour 30 minute exam. Independent investigation – coursework (20%).
