Course summary
Why study applied science? Applied science is appropriate for a wide range of students and combines well with other subjects such as chemistry, physics, math's and psychology. You will need to have a keen interest in science in industry and other modern settings. What will I learn about? The course is split into four units over two years. The final award is pass, merit, distinction or distinction* which is equivalent to A Level grades. A broad range of topics are covered in this course, such as cells, physical and chemical properties, and energy usage, with an emphasis on developing practical skills. • Principles and applications of science • Practical scientific procedures and techniques • Science investigation skills • Specialist physics/chemistry or biology unit
