Course summary

This course develops the knowledge, understanding and skills you'll need to become a decision-maker in business. We run several visits a year to companies, often based in the City, to see the different roles and practices for the organization - this will help you understand how different business sectors work. Previous visits have included AXA insurance and the UK's top law firm, Clifford Chance. As part of our work with the Career Academy, we have guest speakers from big businesses who are experts in their field, to talk about their journey to their role, what you need to do to be prepared for interviews and work and what employers are looking for. Some of our students have internships through Career Academy too. Our students have interned with top companies like Liberty Insurance, Citibank, Halifax and Barclays - some have been offered full-time work afterwards. Should you wish to embark on your won business this course will provide the skill set necessary to start your own business more successfully.

For admission on to the Extended Certificate or Diploma pathway (2x A-level equivalent over two years) 4 x GCSE's at C/4 or above, or a Level 2 Certificate / Extended Certificate or above, at Merit or above, in a relevant subject. You will have gained either English and/or math at GCSE 4/C or above or L2 Functional skills.
