Business Studies
Course summary
This course develops the knowledge, understanding and skills you'll need to become a decision-maker in business. We run several visits a year to companies, often based in the City, to see the different roles and practices for the organization - this will help you understand how different business sectors work. Previous visits have included AXA insurance and the UK's top law firm, Clifford Chance. As part of our work with the Career Academy, we have guest speakers from big businesses who are experts in their field, to talk about their journey to their role, what you need to do to be prepared for interviews and work and what employers are looking for. Some of our students have internships through Career Academy too. Our students have interned with top companies like Liberty Insurance, Citibank, Halifax and Barclays - some have even been offered full-time work afterwards. We prepare you fully for your next level of study or UCAS and this course adds extra credits to the Certificate program which will increase your UCAS offer. As published by the school
For admission on to the National Foundation Diploma / Extended Diploma pathway (3x A-level equivalent over two years) 4 x GCSE's at C/4 or above, or a Level 2 Certificate / Extended Certificate or above, at Merit or above, in a relevant subject. Including English and math GSCE at C/4 or above or Functional skills Level 2 in English and math.
