This course is designed for learners who are interested in an introduction to the study of IT alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses. Learners will develop a common core of IT knowledge and study areas such as managing and processing data to support business and using IT to communicate and share information. You will be studying units like: •Information Technology Systems •Creating Systems to Manage Information •Using Social Media in Business •Programming •Website Development •Mobile Apps Development
Four GCSEs grades A*-C (9-4) including English, Maths, IT and one other or a related Level 2 qualification. A reference from previous school/college is required. Learners retaking either English and/or Math will be enrolled onto the Extended Certificate pathway. Learners with a grade of A*-D (9-3) in English and Math will be enrolled onto the Foundation Diploma pathway.
You will be assessed through assignments, projects and a portfolio of work that you will build up over the duration of the course. Also you will be set an externally assess unit by the qualification awarding body. For your English and Math, you will have homework and exams. You will also need to undertake at least 35-hour mandatory work experience.
