Course summary
Paper 1: Drama Shakespeare and a Modern Play. We study Hamlet and A Streetcar Named Desire. Paper 2: Prose A Victorian and a Modern Novel. We study Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway. Paper 2: Unseen Poetry and Pre 1900. We study a collection of modern poems and Keats’ anthology. Coursework: We study either Arundhati Roy’s The God of Small Things or Ian McEwan’s Atonement which the students compare to a novel of their choice.
