An AAT Accounting qualification is an internationally recognized professional accounting qualification based on practical, real-life knowledge that can be use from day one. In the UK the accounting sector is worth approximately £6 billion, with over 7500 organisations and just under 50,000 employees. Accountants are required not only to manage the finances of organizations, ranging from sole traders through to large corporate companies, but also for decision-making for the business, based on their accounting expertise. The course covers the following main areas: •Introduction to Bookkeeping •Principles of Bookkeeping Controls •Principles of Costing •Business Environment synoptic The Level 2 Certificate in Accounting is ideal for anyone wishing to study accountancy and finance alongside a range of complementary business and personal skills. The qualification will help develop accounting knowledge needed to progress to employment or further study in accountancy and finance, alongside business and personal skills that are transferable to any sector and additional business knowledge relevant to accountancy. Course Outcomes Students will develop skills basic accounting practices and techniques, from bookkeeping, costing to using accounting software. Students will also develop communication and IT skills needed to work in Accounting and Finance. Progression This Level 2 qualification provides opportunities to progress to the Level 3 AAT qualification. Skills developed through this qualification could lead to employment as: •Accounts Administrator •Accounts Assistant •Accounts Payable Clerk •Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk •Trainee Accounting Technician •Trainee Finance Assistant.
