Course summary

Physics is the most fundamental of all the natural sciences and its theories attempt to describe the behavior of the smallest building blocks of matter, light, the universe and everything in between. If you are already interested in GCSE Physics, excellent at math's, love solving problems, and would like to know more about fascinating ideas such as quantum mechanics, relativity, cosmology, optics, electricity, forces, then physics is for you. This course will enable you to understand how science works and its relevance beyond the classroom and laboratory. The course will show you how physics links to other sciences and how the subject underpins important technologies. Progression: Physics is an essential qualification for degree courses in engineering, astronomy and in related subjects. The study of physics develops skills that are transferable to any course which requires analytical thinking – for example law, medicine, banking and dentistry.
