This course is for students who are passionate about mathematics; it is timetabled on Wednesday afternoons so you will do your enrichment activities at different times in the week. The fundamentals of mathematical argument, language and proof, mathematical problem-solving and mathematical modelling are developed further. Year 12 Paper 1 and 2 will assess: Further Algebra and Functions, Further Calculus, Complex Numbers, Polar Coordinates, Further Vectors, Hyperbolic Functions. Year 13 For the second year of the A Level course, there are further compulsory elements and students continue with the optional area of study.
To study A levels at QPCS you have to achieve at least six GCSE grades 5-9. G8 in Mathematics.
Year 12 There will be two 1 hr 40mins exams. Year 13 There will be four 1hr 30 exams.
