An A Level in a modern foreign language would be beneficial to a great majority of courses at university, and would be particularly helpful if you choose to spend a year abroad. Modern languages can lead to a variety of exciting careers such as translating, interpreting, finance, law, sales and marketing, engineering, tourism, leisure, public sector, United Nations and European Union, media, linguistics and teaching (primary and secondary). Additionally, the knowledge of a foreign language can allow you to pursue any career at an international level. This course will help to expand your interest in the Italian language and culture as well as develop your linguistic skills. You will focus on a range of historical and contemporary topics which will further develop your understanding of Italy. The course will include literature and film and will encourage you to remain up to date with current affairs. This course is offered in partnership with the Italian Consulate. The syllabus covers a range of topics appropriate to A Level language learning. There is also a focus on the culture and history of Italy.
English and Math's minimum Grade 5 Best 8 including English and Math's, minimum of 48 points, average 6 Must have a minimum of grade 6 GCSE in the subject you wish to study at A Level
All four skill areas will be assessed at the end of the course and will reflect the content of the course. Skills include listening, reading, writing, speaking and grammar manipulation through translation.
