Course summary

Mathematics (Maths) is the language of science and the art of abstract and rational thinking. You will develop your analytical and problem-solving skills in relation to engineering, physics, chemistry, finance and more. This extremely popular course is viewed very favourable with many universities and employers. WHAT WILL I STUDY? Pure maths - Algebra and functions, trigonometry, differentiation and integration. Statistics - Data interpretation, probability and statistical distributions. Mechanics - Kinematics, forces and Newton’s Laws of Motion.

Entry requirements

Five or more GCSE grades 9-5, including a minimum grade 6 in Maths and a minimum grade 5 in English.

How you'll be assessed

At the end of the first year you will sit 2 mock exams, each 2 hours in length to determine your predicted grade for UCAS applications. At the end of the second year you will sit 3 formal examinations of 2 hours each and equal weighting which will determine your final grade.
