An A Level in mathematics introduces calculus and its applications (statistics and mechanics). It emphasises how mathematical ideas are interconnected and how mathematics can be applied to model situations mathematically using algebra and other representations, to help make sense of data, to understand the physical world and to solve problems in a variety of contexts, including social sciences and business. It prepares learners for further study and employment in a wide range of disciplines involving the use of mathematics. It encourages you to think and act mathematically, using mathematical skills and forms of communication to analyse situations within mathematics and elsewhere. Maths A-Level prepares you to study for most degrees. Maths, accounting, engineering, sciences, computing, finance and economics degrees are particularly appealing to students with maths A-level.
