Course summary

History is the study of past events. In History A Level you will learn about 2 periods of history in depth with one focusing on British history and the other focusing on world history. You will also have the opportunity to complete your own independent study of a period over 100 years. The study of history will not only inform you of past events but also help you understand why the world has developed in the way it has. With History A Level you could go on to study a wide range of degrees, in particular politics, history, law, sociology, philosophy, ethics, advertising or journalism. History is also highly regarded by employers in industries including politics, international organisations, the media, government, teaching, law and the civil service.
