We cover approaches and methods related to the core areas of Psychology – cognitive, social, biological, developmental, individual differences and research methods and these are linked to empirical evidence of psychological research. Explanations from different approaches, along with psychological issues and debates, are learned and particularly in Paper 3, students can choose from a range of attractive topic options which have been arranged to help teachers to teach to their strengths and at the same time ensure that their students experience an interesting, diverse and coherent course of study. This course has a 10% of the overall mark which comes from maths competency and students will be trained to analyse and draw conclusions using statistical testing. Students who are successful in this topic can use this A level in a range of jobs and it provides excellent skills to widen degree choices.
