Whether you wish to work in a large organisation or you have ambitions of starting your own business, this A level gives you an understanding of how business works. You will investigate how organisations provide the goods and services that customers will use and the role of the business organisation in a modern economy. You will focus on the key areas of business activity, including financial management, marketing, personnel and production management. A key theme running through the course will be the promotion of enterprise activities in a modern economy. Business students may go on to study business related degrees, such as business management, business and finance, accounting, advertising and marketing, logistics and supply chain management, events management and enterprise. However, this course can also complement study in a variety of other areas, such as Law or Economics.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in academic subjects, including GCSE maths & GCSE English Language.
This two-year course is entirely assessed by written examination at the end of two years of study, covering all content covered over the two years of study.
