The Math's Department offers both A Level Math's and Further Math's. A Level Math's students are taught for 5 hours a week and Further Math's students for 10 hours a week. The Maths department also offers Core Math's to those students who achieve a grade 6 at GCSE but wish to continue studying mathematics. In addition, GCSE re-sit classes are offered and it is our aim that all students leave Chestnut Grove with at least a grade 4 in Math's by the end of Year 13. LENGTH OF COURSE & NUMBER OF LESSONS PER CYCLE: 2 year A Level, with 10 lessons per week. At least 5+ 9-4 passes at GCSE including English and Mathematics, with grade 8 in Mathematics. Students wishing to study Further Mathematics must also study A level Mathematics (Double Maths option).
