While studying Mathematics at UAI, we believe that students deserve a creative and ambitious mathematics curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge, which brings curiosity and prepares them well for everyday life and future employment. Our mathematics curriculum will give students the opportunity to become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, reason mathematically, solve problems, by breaking down problems into simpler steps and justify solutions using mathematical vocabulary.
Have a minimum of Grade 4 GCSE in Mathematics and English (Language or Literature) and 3 other passes at 4 or better individual subject grade requirements: Minimum GCSE Mathematics Grade 7
In A Level Mathematics students study the Linear Specification. All the examinations are taken at the end of the course (end of Year 13). Paper 1: Pure Mathematics Paper 2: Pure Mathematics 2 Paper 3: Statistics and Mechanics Each paper is a 2 hour written examination and all three papers carry equal marks. Some pupils are also offered the opportunity to study Further Mathematics at AS Level.
