- Introduction to a variety of experiences that explore of 2D and 3D media, materials and techniques as well as both traditional and new media. - Explore of drawing for different purposes, using a variety of methods and media on a variety of scales. - Use of sketchbooks/workbooks/journals to underpin their work where appropriate. Students should explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples. This should be integral to the investigating and making processes. Students' responses to these examples must be shown through practical and critical activities that demonstrate their understanding of different styles, genres and traditions. Students should be aware of the four assessment objectives to be demonstrated in the context of the content and skills presented. They should be aware of the importance of process as well as product. We are looking forward to planning and arranging and Art residential either nationally or to Europe to enrich your experiences as maturing artists of the future.
The entry requirement of the Course is a GCSE in Art of a Grade C or Higher
Component 1 96 marks 60% of A level Personal Investigation Internally Assessed - You will need to develop a project, through a sequence of developments (AO1) - You will need to experiment with a diverse range of materials, techniques and processes (AO2) - You will further develop your skill in recording (AO3) - Your project with culminate in a final outcome which will be the result of your sequence of developments and experimentation. (AO4) Component 2 96 marks 40% of A level Externally set assignment Externally Assessed • Students will either perform in and/or design for two key extracts from a performance text.
