Who is this course for? A Level Further Mathematics is best suited to those who loved algebra in their GCSE course. You will be able to solve quadratic equations effortlessly, and will have consistently achieved at least 80% in tests and exams. You should ask your Mathematics teachers as to your suitability for this course. What is the course about? You would study four modules: two compulsory modules named Core Pure Maths | and 2, along with two optional modules, which are usually Further Mechanics | and Further Statistics |. Although these options can be changed according to the interests and ambitions of the class.
GCSE Level 8+ in Mathematics, preferably Level 9, with particular interest and flair for Mathematics if you wish to take this qualification. All students must achieve at least 5 level 5 grades at GCSE.
There are four 1.5 hour long examinations all taken at the end of Year 13: Core Pure 1, Core Pure 2, Further Mechanics 1, Further Statistics 1.
