Course summary

Career Opportunities An A Level qualification is becoming an essential prerequisite for specialist study in Physical Education and Sports Studies in Higher Education. The qualification provides an excellent foundation for students intending to pursue careers in Teaching and Coaching, Sports Development, Physiotherapy, the Leisure Industry, Recreational Management, the Health and Fitness Industry and Professional Sport. Entry requirements

Students require a minimum of 6 GCSEs at grade 4 or above or equivalent, including English (Literature or Language) and Mathematics, with at least a grade 5 in relevant GCSEs or Merit and above in BTEC Level 2 courses. We also recommend you do not take this course unless you are actively involved in a sport outside of the Academy.

How you'll be assessed

Students sit examinations in their first year and are largely assessed through NEA (coursework)
