If students are creative, persistent and can use their initiative, AS Textiles is a practical course that can open up the students’ potential. Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of media, processes and techniques. Students must show evidence in one or more of the areas of study (Fashion design/textiles, costume, digital textiles, printed/dyed fabrics and materials, domestic textiles, wallpaper, interior design, constructed and installed textiles). AS Textiles is designed to encourage a broad approach to Textiles. Work produced will demonstrate the use of formal elements, creative skills and give visual form to individual thoughts, feelings, observations and ideas. Students will be expected to visit galleries on their own, with the school and attend life drawing class. Component 1: Architectural Features project 30% of AS Head Adornment project 30% of AS 40% Component 2: Students choice of one starting point question (choice of 5)
