A Level Fine Art is a creative course that encourages you to develop your skills as a practicing artist. You will be introduced to a variety of projects with the intention to build on your artistic skills and develop your use of materials. You will build a portfolio of work as a result of this before consolidating your learning within a personal investigative project and an externally set assignment. The course will also develop your critical understanding of contextual sources to support and develop your visual artwork.
- Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language - Grade 5 or above in GCSE Art and Design, or a related subject* - Three further GCSEs at grade 4 or above If you wish to study 4 A Levels, you will need 7 GCSEs at grade 7 or above, including two at grade 8. *If you did not study GCSE Art and Design, or a related subject, we will assess your suitability based on a portfolio of work. Assessment takes place regularly on the course to provide feedback to develop your visual artwork and written components (through one-to-one support and group critiques of work). The course contains two assessed components - a personal investigation portfolio and an externally set assignment.
