This course is for 16–18-year-old students who do not have grade 4+ in English. This course covers Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. You will: • Identify explicit and implicit information • Explain, comment on and analyse a writer’s use of language and structure • Evaluate a text critically • Compare writers’ viewpoints and perspectives • Produce descriptive and narrative writing • Complete viewpoint writing • Develop good spelling, punctuation and grammar. You will study this alongside your main qualification.
If you are aged 16–18 and do not already have GCSE maths at grade 4 or above, it will be included in your study programme. This is compulsory for all under 19 students if they do not have grade 4+ in this subject.
