This course provides an attractive alternative to the traditional A Level for students who prefer to have more practical element in engineering. The fundamental philosophy of this course is that, you actively experience the engineering environment including electrical and electronics engineering. BTEC L3 National Extended Certificate in Engineering is equivalent to a full A-Level. The College has made substantial investments in its Engineering and IT infrastructure; we have some of the latest software and a specialist network/hardware laboratory. The course is run by highly trained and qualified teachers with a proven track record of high achievement at all levels. BTEC L3 National Extended Certificate consists of 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are external. The units are including: Engineering Principles (External exam) Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team (Mandatory – internally assessed) Engineering Product Design and Manufacture (Externally assessed) Electronic Devices and Circuits (Optional – internally assessed)
• At least 5 GCSEs grades 9 - 4 including ‘5’ in Maths, ‘5’ Science and ‘5/4’ English. • You will need to be well-motivated and committed to attending classes and completing all coursework on time.
