Pearson BTEC L3 National Extended Diploma in Engineering is designed as a two-year full-time course, which is equivalent to 3 A Level. What units/topics will be studied? BTEC L3 National Extended Diploma consists of 15 units of which 7 are mandatory and 3 are externally assessed. The units are including: Engineering Principles (External Exam) Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team (Mandatory - – internally assessed) Engineering Product Design and Manufacture (Externally assessed) Applied Commercial and Quality Principles in Engineering (Mandatory – internally assessed) A Specialist Engineering Project (Mandatory – internally assessed) Microcontroller Systems for Engineers (Externally assessed) Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems (Mandatory – internally assessed)
