Course summary
Students will undertake 4 units for the Extended Certificate Diploma, 3 of these units are mandatory and 1 are optional unit. All four units will need to be completed to achieve your qualification. This course is designed for ICT students who are serious about a future within the Computing and IT industry and who want to acquire the professional skills needed to succeed in the world of Technology. If you like working with computers, enjoy solving problems using logical, analytical thinking and enjoy hands-on practical work then this course is for you. You will learn how to create websites, coding, animations, games, spreadsheets and databases. You will also develop practical skills in computer hardware and networking. Students will be taught through a variety of software practical sessions, exam preparations and workshops

As published by the school
4 x GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade A*- C) including English or Maths, or a Level 2 Diploma qualification at Merit grade. We will need to see a progress report which states 90% and above attendance and a recommendation from your tutor, school or college. Students with a Level 2 Diploma with Pass grade along with GCSE or Level 2 Functional skills Maths or English should apply and will be interviewed.

Assessment
Unit 1 is an external exam, Unit 2 controlled assessment, Units 3 and 6 will be internally assessed.
