This qualification is for anyone who wishes to work as an electrician in the building services industry. It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress through further learning or into industry employment. You will cover topics including: Working safely and effectively, Design, construct, test and commission electrical systems, Methods of supervision, Electrical science and principles, Regulations and law, Diagnose and repair electrical faults. This qualification is supported by the JIB (Joint Industry Board). This industry qualification is acknowledged by the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) This technical qualification focuses on the development of knowledge and practical skills needed for working competently in the electrotechnical industry with the aim of eventually becoming a qualified registered electrician.
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths, or a related Level 2 vocational qualification. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview will always be required.
